Knight is feverishly shining armor

I just have to post this because I find it hits too close to home and its paradoxicality is both laughable and bitter-sweet…

A woman writes:
Ultimately I want a love to last a lifetime and beyond. The man of my dreams is strong of character, kind, compassionate and considerate. He can make me feel safe and secure without smothering, he will respect my independence even nurture it and assist in its growth. He is strong and knows himself well. Mature, financially secure. Time to spend enjoying life…We will live life with a passion. A lover, friend and companion. He will wrap his arms around me and tell me everything will be okay, and it will. He has a wealth of knowledge and intelligence. Chivalrous, honest with a great sense of humor (not necessarily mainstream). Open minded and adventurous. A knight in shining armor(it may be battered and tarnished, yet in my eyes it will glisten ever brightly). May our paths lead us swiftly to each other!

A man answers:
Lots of luck finding that guy... when you're ready for lowered expectations, let me know. I'm not all that, but I'm a kind man with a heart of gold and an untamed spirit.

I just can’t help but shake my head each time I read this.
What a waste.
