On the first day of being on my own, I made a list of "Things I want to do before I die".
That list has grown a little and some unimportant items have been removed and replaced with more meaningful endeavors.
Well, I consider today a milestone.
I can go ahead and mark off #17 from my list.
For many years, for as long as I can remember, I had been running. I ran hundreds of miles as I child in the Philippines. It was the only way to travel to school. It would have taken forever to walk. Yes, I litterally went through mud, rain, and whatever nature could throw at me - trudging miles in sandals to get to school.
I ran everywhere in middle school, was my dad's running partner. I ran track in high school, then counted over six thousand miles during my enlistment in the Marines.
Well, since I first started keeping track, the 6 miles I ran this morning (plus the 7 I ran yesterday), those miles would have put me over 10,000 miles - that's three trips from Miami to Seattle.
So #17, Cover 10,000 miles of running has been checked off.
Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:13-14
