I was putting up decorations on the Christmas tree, a tradition my eager children and I normally share. I had the Christmas music turned on, the fireplace fired up, wine glass full of egg-nog, and a Santa hat on my head, but sadly, no children...
I was singing along with the familiar Christmas songs when Cindy-Lou Who (The Grinch) came on, singing:
Where are you Christmas
Why can’t I find you?
Why have you gone away?
My world is changing, I'm rearranging.
Does that mean Christmas is changing too?
Where are you Christmas?
Do you remember the one you used you know?
I was so carefree, now nothing's easy.
Did Christmas change, or just me?
This will be the first year I am going to spend Christmas without my children. I don’t know what this holiday season has in store for me emotionally. I do know that a long time ago, God used the census for His higher purpose to ensure Joseph and Mary ended up in Bethlehem. I realize that despite the crazy mixed up emotions these holidays will put me through, God will always be here with me – that He has a higher purpose for me. After all, I have received a present that is worth more than silver or gold. I have received the gift of Jesus.
When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." John 8:12

Dear Noel...I just got back from work and for some reason this computer always clicks on to Noel Lewis blog..FIRST thing!! How about that, eh?
It is so sad that you will not be spending Christmas with the kids Noel but you know what? Christmas is all year through! Every day that you DO get to spend with those precious little jewels is BETTER than Christmas!
I really like your attitude to this. You are saying how blessed you are to have the best gift of all and that is Jesus! Your children will never fail to see Him in you Noel!
God surely does have big plans for you! A higher purpose indeed!
Take care..I will be praying...From Terry
Hello Noel...I haven't heard from you and I was just hoping that everything is going well for you...From Terry
You don't realize but your postings are always such a good help and encouragment.
Even though you are feeling lonely, today. If you give your worries to Jesus, He will bring you Peace through this hard season of your life. If we continue to hold on to our hope in Jesus, we will experience the Christmas Joy He has promised us. I know this because I have also, endured hard seasons in my life. Every day is a winding road, that leads to our destiny.
