While singing songs yesterday in the tiny room provided for me to spend time with my children, my daughter told me that she missed my song-leading. I wondered what could have all of sudden come to her thoughts that would lead her to say she missed my leading songs in church. She went on about her singing, but a progression of ideas came to my head on what she may have been really trying to tell me by saying those words:
Daddy, I miss you leading songs in church.
Daddy, I miss you sitting beside me in the church pews.
Daddy, I miss you brushing my hair.
Daddy, I miss you reading me a goodnight story, kissing me goodnight and telling me how much you love me.
Daddy, I miss you teaching me a new game, or explaining to me how certain machines work.
Daddy, I miss you teaching me how to play softball, tennis, soccer.
Daddy, I miss you helping me with my homework.
Daddy, I miss you …
Children are great aren’t they? They can give you a certain feeling of joy and pain at the same time. What I would give to be at my children's side whenever possible.
Despite all the statistics available out there regarding fatherless children, mine will never have to wonder if I will always be there if they ever need me. They’ll know.
How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! 1 John 3:1

Your daugther is very blessed to have a Dad like you.. and am very certain she will remember (and treasure) every thing you've done for her. Have a blessed week!
Dear Noel...How happy your children are making you these days just as you are making THEM happy!
I have enjoyed reading the love letters that you have been sending to those three precious "kiddos" in your special blog made just for them!
You are an exceptional father Noel!
Bernie never did have a dad or a mom but after he met my dad and mom, he felt like he finally belonged!
In fact when we got married my mother told me that she was losing a son and the best helper she ever had!
You see Noel, when Bernie moved to Welland from Ottawa, my parents and the six kids remaining at home welcomed him with open arms! Betty and I were living in St. Catherines.
Mom had Bernie to herself until I stole him a year later!
Bernie treasures the memories of the times that he lived with my family. All of my little sisters had a big crush on him!
These times that you are having with your children will never be forgotten.
Just as Lauren-mary said, treasure every moment of them!!
Those children will cherish you forever!!
Thanks so much for visiting my blog.
Actually the beautiful pictures that you sent to me have a very special place on MY desktop Noel Lewis!!....from Terry
